The public website
provefix.com saves your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage under the name "theme", your choice in the notice about our policies under "policy-notice", and a random ID under "consent-id" that links your choices in our consent log. These stay on your device.
Analytics cookies are set only after you choose "Accept all", as described below.
The dashboard
seo_app_session: keeps you signed in. It is secure, can't be read by scripts, and lasts 14 days or until you sign out. Strictly necessary.
seo_google_state: protects the Google sign in from forgery. It lasts a few minutes, only while you sign in with Google. Strictly necessary.
seo_vid: a random visitor ID used, in hashed form, to apply daily limits on tool pages you use without an account. It lasts up to 12 months. Strictly necessary to provide the tools fairly.
Analytics
If you choose "Accept all", we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the public site, such as which pages are read and how people find us. Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, which last up to 2 years.
If you choose "Necessary only" or close the notice, Google Analytics doesn't load and these cookies aren't set.
We don't use advertising or social media cookies, and advertising storage stays off whatever you choose.
Payments
When you pay for a plan, you complete payment on Stripe's checkout page. Stripe sets its own cookies there to process the payment and prevent fraud, under Stripe's own cookie policy.
Your choice and how to change it
The notice at the bottom of the screen offers "Accept all" and "Necessary only". Both are equally easy to choose, and the site works the same either way.
To change your mind, use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. A new choice applies right away.
To show consent as the law requires, we keep a record of each choice: a random ID, the time, the version of the notice, your choice, a shortened IP address, a browser summary, the page and the language. These records are deleted after 3 years.
How to control cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the dashboard's cookies, you won't be able to stay signed in, and tool pages may ask you to solve a captcha more often.
